Situated in the trendy Newtown Junction Mall, in a suburb renowned for its history and culture in Johannesburg, The Gentlemen's Arthouse (a play on the word “outhouse”) lived its past life as a 1911 men’s washroom before falling into neglect and disrepair, to later be transformed into a stylised venue specialising in bespoke dining events, while maintaining its authentic character.
Renowned Executive Chef, Jeanel Pieterse, captures the spirit of Victoriana, using only the freshest, locally sourced ingredients. With artisanal cooking techniques and wood-burning ovens, she aims to create an experiential journey for connoisseurs who appreciate fine food & specially crafted cocktails in an elegant setting.
